S.U.M.M.E.R.

When you were in school, did you ever write an acrostic poem? Perhaps you used your name and then wrote attributes to describe yourself. In celebration of the arrival of Summer (despite what it looks like outside), I thought an acrostic was in order.

Sign up for Summer Reading at the library. There are opportunities (and prizes) for all ages. Kids win a free book, teens are in the running for an iPad or iPod Touch, and adults have a chance at a Nook eReader. Visit our website for additional information: http://www.sno-isle.org/.

Unwind with a good book, movie, or music. Take a look at some of our favorites.

Magic and much more! Families are invited to Summer Reading Kickoff events at all Sno-Isle libraries. Find a magic show or other fun event near you: http://www.sno-isle.org/?ID=5677. Click on Find Programs & Events.

Make something. Summer is a good time for home improvements and hobbies. Sno-Isle Libraries have online resources to help: http://www.sno-isle.org/index.cfm?ID=1246&cid=951.

Explore what's happening in your community. Snohomish and Island counties are busy places: http://www.snohomish.org/ and http://www.whidbeycamanoislands.com/.

Road trip and take us with you! Sno-Isle has a mobile site perfect for when you're on the go: http://m.sno-isle.org/.

What are your summer plans?
