Reading Together

As an adult, I look back on the summers of my childhood and remember things like the ice cream truck, playing outside with neighborhood friends on days that seemed to last forever, and the summer reading program at my public library.

I had a special piece of paper for the summer reading program, and when I finished a book, the librarian would use a rubber stamp on my paper to mark my progress. I thought it was great.

Sno-Isle Libraries still provides that excitement through its summer reading programs for children and teens. But did you know that adults are included too?

The Summer Reading Program for adults runs from June 1 – August 1 this year. All the details are here:

It’s as easy as writing a review of the books that you read during this time, and then sharing them with us. Writing reviews will put you in a raffle for some great prizes (the grand prize is a Nook Color eReader) and the library gets to display the insights and interests of its readers.

Here at the library, we are always letting you know about books we like or recommend. This is a great chance for you to do the same!

Sno-Isle Libraries takes very seriously the responsibility we have to make your public library the place you want it to be. Through the summer reading program, we build community as we learn a little more about each other.

We’ll even give you a stamp if you ask! :)

My son Miles (6yr) hubby and I have started the Harry Potter books as our summer ready together book. It has been the highlight of our summer nights!
