Online Learning and the Library



Online: adj. 1. connected to a computer or computer network.


Not long ago, this definition of the word 'online' was unfamiliar, and used rarely in daily conversation. Much has changed in recent years!


Today, being online is not only familiar but encouraged. Options include applying for jobs online, paying bills online and shopping online.

Sno-Isle Libraries is online, with a website that provides you with access to the library’s full collection of books, cds, dvds, databases and eBooks.


Online learning is one growing option for people whose schedules and interests are varied. Online learning may mean taking a distance course through a college or university, or deciding to learn a new skill on your own.

Use these resources to take a practice test, learn a language, better understand computer software or chat with a tutor. All you need is a computer and a library card.
